In 2004 when I started this site, I honestly didn’t think using anti-aging and wrinkle creams would make much of a difference in my overall look. I was wrong (and I look better than I did 10 years ago and love the compliments I get!), but it took me quite a while (and some wasted money) to find products that really worked! While I never had horrible wrinkles, I had a few sags here and a few lines there that I just didn’t want.

And while I found tons of products, I didn’t find someone like me offering their honest review of what’s out there.    LifeCell’s powerful ingredients and all-in-one formula makes it very compelling and the only reason it barely missed being our #1 choice is because of the price.

   This was a tough call, as both are very effective (clinical trials we found showed that 80% of users experienced a 56 – 86% visible reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles). LifeCell contains some natural anti-aging ingredients that have been tested extensively and gotten great write-ups by the New York Times, Time Magazine, and NBC News (Dithiolane-3-Pentanic Acid, Idebenone, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Deanol, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3).Basically, the decision here is whether you prefer Life-Cell’s all-in-one formula (versus Revitol’s three different solutions), or Revitol’s effective but less-expensive product.

   Athena is a relatively new treatment that is being advertised as a non-invasive alternative to Botox that will get results in 7 minutes.

   When we tested the product, what we got after 7 minutes was a white residue that we needed to clean off before we went outside. However, if you have a little patience, Athena does actually work. It’s natural, got covered on “A Current Affair” and even mentioned on “Good Morning America” so if you don’t mind waiting more than 7 minutes, it’s a good option for anti-aging.

   Skin Medica TNS Recovery Complex contains NouriCel-MD which rejuvenates aging and sun-damaged skin.

   In double-blind, placebo controlled professional studies, this active ingredient succeeded in improving patients’ skin. It is a gel that contains several growth factor components to smooth your wrinkles, including interleukins, soluble collagen, and matrix proteins. The only reason it is #4 on our list, is the price. At $141.50 for a .63 ounce gel, it’s not the best value for money out there.
